My journey to better health and fitness officially started March 4, 2006 when I joined this program called Yardie Fitness. At the time, I knew that I wasn’t motivated enough or disciplined enough to lose the weight that I wanted by my 30th birthday on April 12th because I had only lost 7 pounds on my own within a 3 month time period, December – March 4th. My goal was to lose 15 pounds over the entire 6 week program.
According to the trainer, success is measured at the loss of 2 pounds per week, or 12 for the program. I thought I’d go a few pounds further by adding three and making that my goal. By the end of the 3rd week, I had already lost 13 pounds. Three weeks later, after all the sprinting, jogging, lunging, mountain climbing, jumping D’s, crab walking, sit ups, push ups, working out on “the mountain”, “the plantation”, the hill, etc., I had lost a total of 22 pounds meeting my amended goal and weighed 205 pounds. Along with the weight change, my quarter mile run ended at 1:20 and my push ups and sit ups increased 41% and 33.3% respectively. I cut 4.2% body fat and lost a total of 15.2 inches making Yardie Fitness: Session I a complete success for me.
After having a successful Session I, I decided, with the push of a member of my Yardie family—Tiffany Hunter, to go ahead and join the program again for Session II. My focus for the 2nd session was to tone and lose body fat percentage; basically I wanted to create and build lean muscle. Overall, I would like to say that I would recommend Yardie Fitness to anyone and anyone to Yardie Fitness who is serious about traveling the road to better health because it takes a serious person to handle this program and make it work. |
